You have a Shot at Love are you Interested?

I have been plotting to make a dress inspired from Tila Tequila for a long time. So with the on going project runway for BJD contest sprung up with Evening wear, I delve in and took the opportunity to do so. :)

Inspiration: Okay. This is going to be cheesy and many people probably don't agree with what I like, but I like Tila Tequila. I really like her fancy style, how mod it is and the overall look she presents herself professionally. I am not talking about her modeling pictures, but when shes on the red carpet or out and about in public. She also has this kind of interesting style in how she dresses on her show that I envy. It's chic. I have been a watcher of her show on MTV for a while and I sort of wanted to make a tribute to her style.

Story: I titled this dress Confetti Dress because it looks like a dress a woman would wear on a night at a club and then traveling off to the next area in New York on New Years Eve to party down some more. I wanted something that would glitz up a scene where ever she may go. I always associate gold and glitz with celebs and New York. There is something about it being so sparkly that it reminds me of a party on New Years too. This dress ultimately is a Cocktail dress. Despite my story going with the New Years Eve Party, I think the dress can be worn anywhere the environment calls for.

Just a note. I did not sew this on the sewing machine. I completely hand sewed it with a needle a thread. I wanted to see if I could make an outfit completely Haute couture. There are no fasteners either. It slips right on to her and stays in place. Took a lot of altering to get it to do so... but it works how I envisioned it. I created the pattern myself as well by using paper towels and artist tape to create the right tight fit for the dress. Since my fabric was stretchy I didn't have to worry much. There are several rows of Fabric I hand Fringed myself and I sewed and used my jewelry skills to apply the chains and sequins to the dress. The Headpiece clips right into the wig. The silver Clip is not the head piece either. Its just there to keep her hair out of her face. The shoes and Stockings were not made by me. Shoes are Leeke World, and Stockings are Dollzone.

Model: Valsera Dollzone Megi Girl
